The professional-signing fiasco of 2010 finally settles down with the arrival of South African Burton De Wett

Nelson's 2010 professional Burton De Wett has arrived in the country and will make his debut this weekend at Lowerhouse on Sunday. Burton hails from East London in South Africa and to date has 60 first-class games under his belt. The 29 year old left handed batsman and leg spin bowler is currently captain of the South Western District team and has represented North West and also The Warriors franchise, where he was teammates with former Nelson professional Robin Peterson.
Burton boasts an impressive 2731 runs at an average of 27.25 at first class level with a highest score of 182. His useful leg spin bowling has snared 45 wickets at an average of 38 with best figures of 7/95. Burton has expressed his excitement at representing Nelson and is raring to go this weekend after an impressive season back home in South Africa.
