Nelson lost the toss for the 7th time in 8 games and unsurprisingly, Clitheroe elected to bat first.
After putting on 101 inside 24 overs for the first wicket it looked as though the hosts would set a score close to 300. However, 3 wickets from Hendricks and 2 from Grant restricted Clitheroe to 234/7 from their 50 overs.
In response, Nelson looked out of the game once the top 4 had all fallen with the score at 62-4. Russell Bradley (31) & Caleb Grant (47) gave them hope but were both out in quick succession leaving Nelson 137-6. Nazir (20), brought the visitors within touching distance of some bonus points but 4 quick wickets following a short rain break meant Nelson fell 53 runs short of the adjusted target score of 230.
